VETS ROCK

A salute to the men and women that protect and serve our Country

Farmingville, NY – The largest celebration of Country music and the men and women that defend this great nation takes place this Saturday, September 22nd at the Pennysaver Amphitheater. Country music radio station My Country 96.1 presents the second annual Vets Rock Long Island Festival and concert.  Vets Rock is the largest outdoor country music festival on Long Island.  This is an all day event with great live music, tons of vendors, food, cold beer, (hey, it’s country music) and plenty of line dancing fun.

This year’s musical lineup includes the legendary Ronnie Dunn.  Country music superstar Ronnie Dunn has won more than twenty BMI awards including Country Music Songwriter of the year in 1996 and 2001.  He has received more than 27Academy of Country Music Awards and three Entertainer of the Year awards. Together with Kix Brooks, Brooks and Dunn have won more Country Music Association awards and Academy of Country music awards than any act in the history of country music.

Joining Ronnie Dunn on the big stage at the Pennysaver Amphitheater to salute our troops will be Lee Brice, American Idol star Lauren Alaina, Gloriana, and recently reunited for a 2012 tour, the band everybody is talking about,  The Mavericks.   On stage with them will be Long Island locals Lisa Matassa, Rattlesnake Dawn and Six Gun.

Gates to the Amphitheater open at 12 noon and the show starts promptly at 1pm with a salute to our nation.  “This is an event for the entire family to enjoy and a great opportunity to say thank you to the men and women that risk their lives every day to defend our freedoms”, said John Caracciolo President and CEO of My Country 96.1. “ You really can’t help just becoming overwhelmed with a feeling of pride when you see the men and women in uniform fill the stage and the crowd just going wild for them”, added My Country Program Director and morning man Phathead.
